About Us
The Hardy Garden was founded on our passion for quality, healthy food, helping people live a more self-sufficient, sustainable lifestyle, and growing thriving, beautiful, hardy gardens!
Built from a passion for horticulture, I wanted to create a business that allows me to do what I love, while also helping others.
When the pandemic first hit, I started to realize that what I was doing was important work. We're helping make communities more self-sufficient by brining food production back to our back yards.
Our Story
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
My father is horticulturist with a degree from Cornell, and my mother is a first-generation Italian. Growing up, everyone in our family had a garden. It was just a standard part of everyone’s house. Everyone had pantries FULL of preserved goodies. Mason jars filled with tomato sauce, fried peppers and onions, pickled everything, and marinated eggplant (just to name a few!)
My father taught me to appreciate a lush, diverse landscape, and as a landscape contractor for over 40 years, the most practical ways to build beautiful things outdoors. My mother taught me to appreciate good food, where it came from, and how to preserve all that deliciousness to enjoy year-round. I worked for my father, and was a woodworker and a handyman for almost ten years before I started this.
Together, this has given me an invaluable combination of skills when it comes to what I do now. I’ve been immersed in horticulture, landscape construction, gardening, and canning my whole life. Now, I make my living sharing it all with others, and I love every minute of it!
At The Hardy Garden, we approach every task with
The spirit of the artist,
The inquiring mind of the scientist,
and the skillful hands of the craftsman!
Our
Little Sprout

When I'm not in the garden, you're sure to find me on the shore of one of CT's beautiful lakes, spending time with my family, or creating new music with my band.
